Electronic Databases

A comprehensive business information database, containing journal articles, news items, industry reports, annual reports and market research reports.  Most titles are full text.

Biography Reference Center A comprehensive collection of more than 450,000 full text biographies, as well as thousands of narrative biographies.
Britannica Online In addition to the complete Encyclopaedia Britannica, this database also includes Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary & Thesaurus, magazines and periodicals and vetted web sites.
Britannica Original Sources A comprehensive compilation of original source documents, images, and full-length books. The content is organized in the subject areas of: World History, U.S. History, Science and Mathematics, Social Science, Literature, Political Science and Law, Language, and Philosophy and Religion.
Business Source Premier Contains information for nearly every area of business including management, economics, finance, accounting, international business, and more.
CINAHL Provides access to citations and abstracts from nursing and allied health journals, with some full text.
CQ Researcher Offers in-depth, unbiased coverage of political and social issues, with regular reports on topics including health, international affairs, education, the environment, technology and the U.S. economy. Each single-themed issue provides a thorough overview of the topic, including an introductory overview, background and assessment of the current situation, pro/con statements from representatives of opposing positions, a chronology, and maps and graphs.
Credo Reference Contains the full text of hundreds of reference books, covering all subject areas.  An excellent resource to consult to get an overview on a topic.  Entries range anywhere from short dictionary definitions to extensive essays from specialized subject encyclopedias.
Ebook Central A collection of approximately 46,000 full text electronic books in all subject areas.
EBSCO Electronic Books Provides access to digital versions of books, journals, and database content.
ERIC A comprehensive index of abstracts from education journals and documents.  Some articles are linked to full text.
Films on Demand  A web-based digital video delivery service that allows you to view streaming videos online. Full length videos and individual clips are searchable by title, subject or keyword.
GreenFILE A collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles covering all aspects of human impact to the environment.Topics covered include global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more.
Hartford Courant Contains the full text of the Hartford Courant (1992 – present).

Provides more than 550 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines.
Historical Hartford Courant Contains the full text of the Historical Hartford Courant (1764-1922).
History Reference Center Provides full text from reference books, encyclopedias and non-fiction books, full text for leading history periodicals, historical documents, biographies of historical figures, historical photos and maps, and historical video.
Hoover’s Company Records Contains profiles of companies, industries and key executives.
JSTOR: Arts & Sciences Collection I Includes the complete back runs of 119 titles in fifteen disciplines. Established in 1997, it is JSTOR’s first collection and includes many of the core research and society published journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences. This collection also includes a selection of titles in the more science-oriented fields of ecology, mathematics, and statistics.
JSTOR: Biological Sciences Collection Contains articles in areas such as ecology and evolutionary biology, plant and animal sciences, paleontology and conservation.
Legal Information Reference Center Indexes major law reviews, legal newspapers, bar association journals and international legal journals. It also contains law-related articles from business and general interest titles.
Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts Indexes journals, books, research reports and proceedings. on the subjects of librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more.
Literary Reference Center Contains detailed information on the most studied authors and their works. Full text entries include information from over 1,000 books and monographs, major literary encyclopedias and reference works, and hundreds of literary journals.
MainFile A multi-disciplinary database providing full text and indexing & abstracting for publications covering all aspects of academic study and general interest subject areas. In addition, the database also offers photos, maps & flags and company profiles.
MasterFILE Premier This multidisciplinary database provides full text for general reference publications with full text information dating as far back as 1975. Covering virtually every subject area of general interest, MasterFILE Premier also includes full text reference books, biographies, primary source documents, and an image collection of photos, maps and flags.
Medline Provides access to citations and abstracts from academic and professional journals in the subject areas of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and more.
Nexis Uni Formerly known as Lexis/Nexis Academic, Nexis Uni provides access to full text news, business and legal publications. News coverage includes deep backfiles forward to up-to-the-minute stories in national and regional newspapers, wire services, broadcast transcripts, international news, and non-English language sources. The Company Dossier module contains detailed company information and financial performance measures. Lexis/Nexis also contains access to Shepard’s Citations for federal and state court cases dating back to 1789.
Newspaper Source Plus Contains articles from U.S., international and regional U.S. newspapers as well as television and news radio transcripts.
Opposing Viewpoints in Context Containing excerpts from reference books, articles from magazines, journals and newspapers, topic overviews and viewpoint articles, Opposing Viewspoints is a comprehensive source for information on social issues.

Professional Development Collection Designed for professional educators, this database provides a highly specialized collection of high quality education journals, including peer-reviewed titles and educational reports. Most articles are full text.
PsycARTICLES Produced by the American Psychological Association, PsycArticles contains full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. Watch a short video tutorial
Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection Contains articles on topics such as emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods.
PubMed Includes citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals back to the 1950s and includes links to full text articles and other related resources.

A comprehensive Spanish-language resource offering encyclopedia entries, images, health reports, a Spanish-English dictionary and the full text of over a hundred reference books and dozens of general interest magazines in a broad array of subject areas. Daily updates of the most current articles from a dozen prominent newspapers from 10 Latin American countries are also included.
Regional Business News Provides full text coverage from regional business publications from both rural and metropolitan areas in the United States.
