Diversity 365 Gallery
About the Diversity 365 Gallery
The Donald R. Welter Library at Three Rivers Community College has created an exhibition space called the Diversity 365 Gallery and we have received funding to purchase art for a permanent collection for this gallery the Three Rivers College Foundation. The art that we will feature will celebrate and explore the themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The process for choosing art for the permanent collection will include hosting a series of Diversity 365 exhibitions over the next four to five semesters.
“Exhibition #1” opened on February 1, 2022 and featured two-dimensional work from twelve faculty members representing eight colleges in the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) system. The exhibition can be viewed virtually: Exhibition 1
Exhibition #2 is scheduled for the Fall 2022 Semester. Exhibition #2 will be open to staff and students in the CSCU system. Students on any level, undergraduate or graduate, are welcome to apply. The details about the show, including deadlines and the full prospectus are posted below.
Each show in the Diversity 365 series of exhibitions will feature work from a different segment of our larger college community. The final permanent collection will include work in a variety of 2D media from the faculty, staff, and students from Connecticut’s state college and university systems, as well as from the general public. At the close of the series of Diversity 365 exhibitions, the selection committee will purchase art from the body of exhibited work for the library’s permanent collection.
