Diversity 365 Gallery
About the Diversity 365 Gallery
The Donald R. Welter Library at Three Rivers Community College has created an exhibition space called the Diversity 365 Gallery and we have received funding to purchase art for a permanent collection for this gallery the Three Rivers College Foundation. The art that we will feature will celebrate and explore the themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The process for choosing art for the permanent collection will include hosting a series of Diversity 365 exhibitions over several semesters.
Exhibition #1 opened on February 1, 2022 and featured two-dimensional work from twelve faculty members representing eight colleges in the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) system. The exhibition can be viewed virtually: Exhibition 1
Exhibition #2 opened on October 12, 2022 and will run through December 12, 2022. The show features 2D art from non-faculty CSCU staff and students and can be viewed virtually: Exhibition #2. The selection committee chose nine works from seven artists representing seven different campuses in the CSCU system. The library will host a closing reception in the Diversity 365 Gallery on Tuesday, December 13, from 6-8pm. All are invited.
Exhibition #3 is scheduled for the Spring 2023 Semester.
Exhibition #3 will be an open call to faculty, staff and students in the CSCU system as well as members of the CT general public. The details about the show, including submission instructions, deadlines, and the full prospectus will be posted on this page by mid-December 2022. At the close of Exhibition #3, the selection committee will begin its purchase of art for the library’s permanent Diversity 365 Gallery collection, choosing work from the art exhibited during the course of the Diversity 365 exhibition series.
