Sporting is prevented from selling tickets for the visit to Athletic Bilbao, in the Champions League, following the throwing of pyrotechnic devices by Leonine fans in Munich, UEFA announced this Wednesday, December 17th.

The organization’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee (CEDB) carried out the punishment that had been imposed on the club since last year, when it hosted Arsenal, in the same European competition and for the same reasons, in addition to imposing a fine of 40,000 euros on the green and white emblem.

In this way, Sporting is prevented from selling tickets for the last meeting in the league phase of the Champions League, the visit to Athletic Bilbao, scheduled for January 28th.

Last week, during the trip to the Allianz Arena, Sporting fans exploded and threw pyrotechnic devices into the stands, and, the day after the Lions’ defeat (3-1) in the sixth round of the Champions League phase, the Munich police reported that two Lions supporters had been arrested.
