A PLANE was forced to make an emergency landing after a needy boyfriend allegedly argued with staff about not being seated next to his partner.
The clingy man is said to have complained about his seat and asked to be next to his girlfriend on a flight from Narita, Japan to Shanghai.
When the passenger sat next to the man’s girlfriend did not want to swap seats, the man began to argue with staff.
He had started to complain when boarding the Spring Airlines flight IJ005, and the disagreement continued once the flight had taken off from the Narita International Airport.
Crew members explained he needed to stay in his seat for the length of the three-hour flight on December 1.
Yet witnesses say the argument kept going for nearly two hours after take-off.

The passenger is said to have become so aggressive that the pilot decided to inform Japanese authorities.
The plane then made an emergency U-turn and returned to Narita, where the hot-headed passenger was removed from the flight by police.
Footage taken from inside the Boeing 737 shows air hostesses trying to manage the situation before police officers arrived.
The plane had taken off at 7pm local time, scheduled to arrive in Shanghai at 11pm.
But the pilot turned the plane around two hours in – with travellers having been flown four hours just to land exactly where they had started.
Other passengers onboard were angry about the emergency landing, finding the situation “frustrating”.
One irritated holidaymaker said: “There was no prior announcement or discussion about the situation.”
“We only heard an announcement stating that the flight was turning back due to a person obstructing the crew.”
They said they were nearly in Shanghai when the plane diverted: “At that point, we were only around 30 minutes away from landing in Shanghai.”
“It was very frustrating. He could have settled down so everybody could reach their destination.”
Flying restrictions meant that once the suspect was removed in Narita, the original flight was cancelled.
Remaining passengers were ordered to leave the Boeing 737, left stranded in Japan, and forced to wait for a rescheduled flight at 10am the following day.
Passengers said Spring Airlines offered them £49 in compensation but did not provide hotels or other overnight accommodation.
Some travellers say they were forced to sleep on benches and chairs in the airport.
