Like himself, Trump returned to his starting thesis, namely, the complete, total and absolute capitulation of Ukraine for the benefit of Mr. Putin’s Imperial Russia.
In fact, Trump never fooled the most informed, who only expected that from him.
Ukraine would have to recognize Crimea, Donetsk and Lubansk as Russian territories.
There would be a “de-militarized zone”, which would be, “de facto”, controlled by the Russians.
Ukraine would forever renounce membership in NATO.
There would be no Western observation forces in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces would be substantially reduced, which would constitute yet another attack on Ukraine’s sovereignty.
In an unbelievable provocation to the Ukrainians, who never supported anything resembling this ideology with Zelensky, Ukraine should renounce Nazism, when the invading power is led by someone who was, admittedly, a Stalinist, and Russia is not asked to renounce Stalinism.
And what guarantees are given to Ukrainians?
Theoretically, 100 billion dollars coming from frozen Russian assets and 100 billion dollars coming from the EU, which was not heard on this matter. Nothing from the USA, although a vague reference is made to possible investments in the future.
However, we are left with the idea that an Investment Fund will be created that would be managed jointly by the USA and Russia.
Ukraine would also receive security guarantees from the US, but under conditions that are not specified.
And, on the other hand, Ukraine committed to holding elections within 100 days, after signing the capitulation, which is, finally, to be absolutely certain that Zelensky, after capitulating, would have no chance of being re-elected.
There would also be a Peace Council, led by Trump, which would control the entire pacification process in Ukraine, similar to what is being tried to implement in Gaza, with the success that is known.
That is, Trump, who has promoted a climate of civil war in his own country, would be the leading figure in the Peace Council in Ukraine, after having forced the latter to capitulate to Russia’s imperialist interests.
Something more ridiculous would be difficult.
And let’s not have any doubts. If Ukraine and the EU do not accept the terms of the agreement, Trump will stop providing any kind of support to Ukraine (including, if it only depends on him, in terms of information) and will stop selling weapons to Ukraine to European NATO countries.
Furthermore, Trump will make a commitment to prevent the entry of new interested countries from Eastern Europe into NATO, if not he will be able to accept the withdrawal of strategic arsenals from some European countries that currently belong to NATO.
It would be difficult for Putin to find a better ally in the White House.
And, in the face of all this, the Western World is witnessing the US approaching Saudi Arabia (which has already signed agreements with China), Qatar (which has good relations with Iran), in short, everything that represents a transactional interest for Trump, as if it were something normal and even praiseworthy.
Never has the Western World had such tragic leadership.
The Western World has never had as leader someone so devoid of values and principles.
But, unfortunately, there are still those who feel honored by an invitation to dinner with someone who does not have a shred of respect for the Founding Fathers of the USA, nor for the most basic rights associated with Human Dignity.
