The Azores Budget for 2026 was approved this Thursday, November 27th, in a final global vote in the regional parliament, with votes in favor from PSD, CDS-PP, PPM, votes against from BE, IL and PAN and abstention from PS and Chega.
The document was approved by a majority, with 22 votes in favor from the PSD, two from the CDS-PP and one from the PPM, with votes against from BE (one), IL (one) and PAN (one) and 22 abstentions from the PS and five from Chega.
The vote on the Azorean executive’s Budget for next year took place today in the plenary of the Legislative Assembly, in Horta, Faial island, after three days of discussion.
In the general vote, the document was also approved by a majority, with 22 votes in favor of the PSD, two from the CDS-PP and one from the PPM, votes against from BE (one), IL (one) and PAN (one) and 22 abstentions from the PS and five from Chega.
The legislature’s third Plans and Budgets foresee a global public investment of 1,191 million euros, including 990.9 million under the direct responsibility of the Regional Government, which presented the implementation of community funds, in particular the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), as a “great desideratum”.
The Azores parliament is made up of 57 deputies, 23 of which are from the PSD bench, another 23 from the PS, five from Chega, two from the CDS-PP, one from the IL, one from the PAN, one from the BE and one from the PPM.
