An email dated Tuesday announcing that the month that runs would not be paid in full to the approximately 50 doctors who provide services there, especially in the area of emergency care, sparked “outrage” in the class, as DN reported this Thursday, November 27th. But, on the afternoon of the same day, the Board of Directors of the Castelo Branco Local Health Unit, which remained silent on Wednesday despite being contacted by our newspaper, came to say that “in view of the news published by the Social Communication about the delay in payments to service providers”, that ULS “is in dialogue with professionals to find solutions that mitigate the impacts of this occurrence and guarantee contractual compliance”.
But, at this moment, and as sources linked to the class told DN “the situation is not resolved, we do not even know the amount that will be paid and when”. The dialogue between administration and professionals aims to resolve the situation, but above all to “guarantee emergency care for the population of the region until it is regularized”, they explain, arguing: “And no one wants care to be lacking”.
In any case, professionals are listening to what the Board of Directors has to tell them, although in the response sent to DN it is reaffirmed by the administration “that the problem will be overcome and that the provision of health care to the population will not be compromised”.
Remember that the email sent to around 50 medical professionals stated that the reason had to do with the ongoing “management” process and that this would be resolved in December and January. The same sources told DN that the situation has to do with “a treasury problem”, which they want to see resolved as quickly as possible.
To DN, the Executive Management once again reaffirmed that this matter is “an internal matter for ULS” and that only they can respond for it.
