Both winners were selected by an eight-member jury chaired by David Elliott. They were part Adelaide Gingadirector of MACAM – Armando Martins Museum of Contemporary Art, João Paulo Queirozpresident of the National Society of Fine Arts, Maura Marvãorepresentative of Portugal and Spain at Phillips, Tim Marlow OBECEO and director of the Design Museum, London, Philippe Vergnedirector of the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, Armando Cabralcollector and curator and Francisco Trêpaartist and winner of the Sovereign Portuguese Art Prize 2024.
There is still one more award to be given, the Audience Awardworth two thousand euros. It will be the visitors to the exhibition of the 30 finalists for the award, at the National Society of Fine Arts (SNBA), who will vote, in person or online.
A Sovereign Portuguese Art Prize 2025 — Finalists Exhibition It can be visited from today, November 26th, until December 13th, 2025. “All works on display are available for sale and proceeds are divided equally between the artists and SAF’s expressive arts programs, which support disadvantaged children in Portugal. In this way, collectors can acquire relevant contemporary works, directly contributing to an essential social initiative”, explains the SAF Association, founded and chaired by British businessman Howard Bilton.
