The center-right agrees on a Government in the Netherlands based on more defense spending and greater control of asylum

Three center-right parties in the Netherlands announced this Friday the content of the agreement that establishes the foundations for the future minority government, in which they commit to increase defense spending“controlling” the flow of arrivals of asylum seekers and the search for “a leading and constructive role” in the European Union.

The text raises a significant reduction in asylum with a more restrictive and coordinated approach at the European level, and the future Dutch Executive – with the progressive liberal Rob Jetten as probable prime minister – wants “regain control” of the immigration system, defending a new international model that allows asylum applications to be submitted and processed outside Europe.
