Fewer agents and “targeted arrests,” Trump’s ‘border czar’ plan to reduce tension in Minnesota

Donald Trump’s ‘border czar’, Tom Homan, revealed this Thursday his plan to reduce tension in Minnesota after the murder of two American citizens in less than a month by shooting by agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) and the Border Patrol.

In a clear change of strategy by the Trump Administration in the face of growing citizen rejection of the use of lethal force in immigration raids, Homan announced that from now on federal agents will focus on “specific, selective and strategic control operations”, instead of the macro-raids in the middle of the street that were being carried out.

After four days on the ground in Minneapolis, the border czar acknowledged that federal immigration operations have not been “perfect” and warned that agents who do not act professionally will be “treated like those of any other federal agency.”
