“Twenty men, without a single casualty, they killed hundreds of us… I swear, I’ve never seen anything like it. We couldn’t even get up after they used that ultrasound weapon or whatever.”
These are the words of one of the bodyguards of Nicolas Maduro in a video that has gone viral, among other things, because the White House spokesperson herself, Caroline Leavitthas shared it among his followers.
“It was as if our heads exploded from the inside, some of us started bleeding from our noses and others vomited blood,” he added.
Of course, the testimony must be taken with a grain of salt since it is based on anonymity. It may actually be that whoever is speaking was part of Maduro’s security team and may be a decoy.
Their story may also be true or it may be an excuse to justify the poor resistance they offered to the American Delta Force.
In any case, the description fits with the effects of the new EPIC weapon – Electromagnetic Personal Disabling Control, in its acronym in English – that the Department of Defense purchased in 2017, under the first mandate of Donald Trump.
The objective of EPIC is precisely to eliminate concentrations of enemy troops without having to kill them.
Its use is reserved for war actions, although it is especially effective in anti-terrorist or counter-drug operations, in which the number of opponents is limited and is usually concentrated in a small space.
Until now, it had not been used or there was no record of it, and perhaps the reason was that the last ingredient to cause the desired effect was missing.
A striking resemblance
This is where we enter the realm of speculation or conspiracy, if you will, but it is inevitable to ask the same question that the magazine asks. Forbes: Is there any relationship between this EPIC weapon, the symptoms of Nicolás Maduro’s guards and the so-called “Havana syndrome” that has been talked about so much lately?
It would, without a doubt, be a striking narrative twist and could give the United States an enormous advantage when facing this type of “surgical” operations.
Havana syndrome consists of a series of neurological symptoms that include dizziness, sensory loss, exhaustion or spontaneous bleeding.
In the last year, several diplomats, soldiers and members of American intelligence have shared this deterioration and that is why it has been given a common name, although there is still not enough scientific evidence to show that all these diseases have the same origin.
The Department of Defense is investigating a device that the Biden Administration purchased in its last days in office and that was distributed among a good part of those affected.
They protested from the beginning, considering that there had to be a cause-effect relationship between the device and its ills, but the authorities denied it… until, recently, a study has shown that, yes, there are pieces of hardware electromagnetic radiation of Russian origin that could cause these symptoms, which suggests a covert operation by the Kremlin or someone connected to the Kremlin.

Unprecedented operation
The question, therefore, would be whether the United States, after almost a year of investigations, has managed to turn the problem around and use this technology to its advantage.
The name of the syndrome has to do, of course, with the Cuban capital, since the first to suffer similar symptoms in a group were the members of an American diplomatic delegation who visited the city at the end of 2016 and returned with vertigo and severe headaches.
What is clear is that Trump saw in the early hours of January 2-3 something he had never seen before… and we are talking about the man who was behind the operations against the Iranian general Qasem Solemaini and against the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadiin which a Delta Forces commando also participated.
It is also clear that, beyond the possible ineffectiveness of the hundreds of bodyguards that Maduro had, the fact that a single group achieved its objective in so few minutes and with so little damage is striking.
The union of EPIC with the Russian technology found in the device of discord – about which hardly anything is known, not even from whom it was purchased – could be behind everything.
A success of the Department of Defense and the CIA that could be replicated in the near future in similar operations.
