Our Mission:

In support of Three Rivers Community College's mission and purpose as stated in the college catalog, the Learning Resource Centers provide a well-organized collection of high-quality materials and services in an efficient, fiscally responsible and timely manner. The ultimate goal of the Learning Resource Centers is to instruct and prepare users to be life-long learners.

General Information:

Both sites contain books, periodicals, pamphlets, and audiovisual materials for use by both the College community and the general public. As a member of the NEW and IMPROVED Online Catalog Libris, (Library Resources Information System for Connecticut Community Colleges) students, faculty, staff and the community now have 24 hour access to the catalog seven days a week via the World Wide Web.

The Learning Resource Centers offer instructional programs on using the library, audiovisual materials, conducting research and writing term papers.  Instruction is available for both groups and individuals upon request. The Library Instruction program is emphasized so that the Learning Resource Center is also a teaching unit in the college, which will provide an unlimited interdisciplinary approach to knowledge. Its purpose is to help create a richer learning environment in which students learn to do independent study with individualized instruction. In addition, the Learning Resource Centers provide computers and audiovisual equipment for general use.
