Subject Guide Search: Select the "Subject Guide" search mode. Type "Water" in the search box and limit your search results to full text articles only. Categories as "Water", "Water and Crops", "Water Availability", "Water Conservation", "Water Consumption", and "Water Contamination" retrieve good results. Narrow the topics by subdivision when this option is available.
Relevance Search: Select the "Relevance Search" mode. Limit your search to full text articles only. Search terms as "water quality", "contaminated water", "water availability", and "waterborne diseases" will return the most relevant results at the top of the citation list.
Keyword Search: Select the "Keyword Search" mode. Limit your search results to full text articles only. Search strings as "water and environment" or "water and conservation" will retrieve the most current articles at the top of the citation list.

UNESCO - Water "UNESCO Water Portal is intended to enhance access to information related to freshwater available on the World Wide Web. It provides links to the current UNESCO and UNESCO-led programs on freshwater and serves as an interactive point for sharing, browsing, and searching websites of water related organizations, government bodies, and NGO's, including a range of categories such as water links, water events, learning modules, and other online resources".
WaterWeb "WaterWeb is an organization that seeks to create a global community, bringing together educational, governmental, nonprofit, and commercial entities interested in water research, conservation, and management. WaterWeb's goals are to advance water related issues, promote the use of quality information, and share information with water use stakeholders and decision makers."
BBC - The Water Debate The web site covers hot topics as "Can water crisis be averted?", "Water wars", "Water privatization", "Urban solutions", "Rural solutions", and "Politics and water."
The World's Water The web site contains a directory of governmental, inter-governmental, and non-governmental organizations and associations, commercial, educational, and water publications links on the world's freshwater resources.
Water Environment Federation The web site offers information about water quality news and resources. Some of the documents cover "Hot topics on water quality in the headlines", "This week in Washington", "This week worldwide", press releases, periodicals and newsletters, and related links.
American Water Works Association Concentrating on drinking water quality, the web site includes advocacy, communications, conferences, education and training, and breaking news on water issues.
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency The content of the web site is organized in sections covering "Ground water and drinking water", "Water science", "Wastewater management", "Wetlands, oceans and watersheds", and the American Indian Environmental Office
U.S. Geological Survey - Water Science for Schools The web site offers information on many aspects of water, along with pictures, data, maps, and an interactive center for opinions and water knowledge.
The Water Page This web site promotes sustainable water resources management and use. A particular emphasis is placed on the development, utilization, and protection of water in Africa and other developing regions.
World Water Council The web site provides documents that "promote awareness and build political commitment on critical water issues to facilitate the efficient conservation, protection, development, planning, management and use of water in all its dimensions on an environmentally sustainable basis for the benefit of all life on earth".
National Agricultural Library - Water Quality Information Center The web site provides electronic access to information about water and agriculture.
Clean Water Network Clean Water Network is an alliance of over 1,100 organizations that endorse the "National Agenda for Clean Water." The agenda outlines the need for strong water safeguards in order to protect public health and the environment.
