The TASC provide a variety
of computerized adaptive technologies to help provide accommodations for
students with special needs. With equipment and software, we offer
special services for students with physical (psycho-motor, visual,
aural) limitations as well as supports that assist LD students.
A state-of-the-art
workstation is currently available at the TASC. The station is
ADA-compatible with an adjustable work surface. The hardware includes a
21" high-resolution monitor, large-key keyboard, large trackball mouse,
and a scanner. Some of the available programs are listed below. To learn

Kurzweil 3000
- Text-to-speech software
that is also a comprehensive reading, writing and learning software
solution for struggling readers, including individuals with learning
difficulties, such as dyslexia, attention deficit disorder or those who
are English Language Learners.
Dragon
Naturally Speaking - Speech-to-text
software that recognizes and creates text from natural continuous
speech. Talk to a PC through a microphone and your words appear
immediately on the screen and in your document.
