Three Rivers honored one of its faculty members at the All Classes Reunion. Brian Simpson, a 2003 retiree of Three Rivers Community College received the Distinguished Faculty Award.
The Distinguished Faculty Award recognizes retired faculty of the college, who through their excellence in teaching inspired and supported students throughout their tenure. Simpson, who joined the college in 1972 as an Assistant Professor in Economics and Law was cited by a former student as someone who loved to teach and loved his students.
“Brian Simpson represented the best of what a college education had to offer. When I think back on my years at Mohegan, Mr. Simpson comes to mind first. He’ll always have a place of honor in my college memories,” former student Nicole Michaud said in her nomination letter for Simpson.
Simpson retired from Three Rivers Community College
as a Professor of Economics and over his tenure served also as an advisor,
a member of the facilities planning committee tenure committee, governance
council, nursing admissions committee and worked on various special
projects such as the Careers in Social Sciences Day and Russian
Accountants Delegation visit among numerous other positions within the
college. |
