Karen Aubin presenting award to Beverly Babcock

Three Rivers’ Alumni Association awarded their Distinguished Alumni Award for 2004 to Beverly Babcock, of Ashaway, Rhode Island.

Babcock was presented her award at Three Rivers Community College’s first-ever All Classes Reunion. The reunion brought together faculty, staff and alumni from Three Rivers Community College, as well as the former Mohegan Community and Thames Valley State Technical colleges, the two colleges that merged to form Three Rivers Community College in 1992.

According to the nominating criteria, the Distinguished Alumni Award is awarded to “an alumnus who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishment in business, professional achievement, or community service that has brought honor and distinction to his or her alma mater.

Babcock is a 1977 graduate of Mohegan Community College where she majored in Science and Nursing. Since then, she has devoted much of her life toward the betterment of her community through her efforts with the Critical Care Nursing Association, Ashaway Ambulance Committees, Westerly Pawcatuck Council for Community Service, National Council on Aging, Narragansett Indian Parents Advising Committee and more.

Through her efforts, Babcock has helped to establish West Covex Adult Day Services, an adult day care center in Rhode Island meant to provide respite for families caring for elderly loved ones.
