The Student Government is a governing body of elected and non-elected students who represent the interests of the student body. As the official “student voice,” the Three Rivers Student Government is the liaison between the student population and the faculty & administration to promote the rights and general welfare of all students at the college. The government is charged to fairly distribute student activity funds to student organizations, clubs, and activities that support students. The government advocates improvement to the college community environment on behalf of the student body and charters all new student organizations at the college.

Requirements to Serve

Students interested in serving on Student Government must submit a Student Government Intention Form. To be eligible for membership, a student must be enrolled for a full semester at the college, maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA and remain in good academic standing. Membership is limited to 60 members.

2009/2010 Student Government Executive Board:
The Student Government consists of an executive board, student organization representatives, and general student representatives.


President: Kevin Votruba

The President of Student Government officiates all meetings, prepares the agendas, has the right of ex-officio to serve on any SGA committee, and maintains relationships with the College President and the Student Programs Coordinator.

Vice-President:  William Stoller

The Vice-President is the executive officer ranking immediately below the President and oversees Student Government meetings and business in the President's absence.  The VP is also responsible for maintaining the updated membership roster, recording contact information, and establishing quorum present at scheduled meetings, in addition to assisting the Special Events Chair with promotion as needed.

Secretary: Jordan Hill

The Secretary is responsible for the taking and reading of minutes, notifying members of meetings, contacting various persons in relation to the organization, administrating the day-to-day activities of the organization and creating the order of business.

Treasurer:  Daniel Spicer

The Treasurer keeps an accurate record of funds for the current fiscal year, and any unallocated surpluses, and presents the updated Treasurers' report at every scheduled meeting.  The Treasurer is also responsible for ensuring that Budget Requests are properly presented and all information required is present and meets with the Student Programs Coordinator once (1) weekly to exchange necessary documentation.

Governance Representative: Micah Duhaime

The Governance Representative is the student member of the Three Rivers' Governance Council. The purpose of Governance Council is to address major institutional planning and policy issues and to provide a forum for discussion of other important college issues.  Body meets twice monthly and includes representatives for all major college constituencies.

Special Events Chair: Emily Hendrick

The Special Events Chair oversees the Programming Committee of the Student Government, responsible for the coordination, planning, and implementation of student events. The committee sponsors dances, movies, thematic parties, and cookouts every year.
