Donald R. Welter Library Citation Style Guides
Documentation styles are systems for providing information about sources used in research papers. They vary among academic disciplines:
- The MLA (Modern Language Association) style is often used in the Humanities (English, Theater, Art, Music, etc.). For more detailed information, refer to Purdue Online Writing Lab for MLA Style.
- The APA Style is recommended in the social sciences (history, sociology, psychology, anthropology, human services, etc.). For more detailed information, refer to Purdue Online Writing Lab for APA Style.
- Chicago Style is usually required for natural sciences and humanities.
Check with your instructor regarding which style you should use for your research work.
