Booker T. DeVaughn Lecture Series
Three Rivers College Foundation

After her lecture, Anne Garrels of NPR signs a copy of her book Naked in Baghdad for President Emeritus Booker T. DeVaughn.

The Booker T. DeVaughn Lecture Series is an ongoing lecture series established by President Emeritus Booker T. DeVaughn. The series was established to provide an open platform for the exchange of ideas in the community. All lectures are free and open to the college community, and the public.

In February 2007, the series received a generous boost from a local institution when Jim Cronin, president, treasurer and CEO of Dime Bank, presented the lecture committee with a $25,000 check.

Lectures, which usually run bi-annually, are free and open to the college community and the public. The co-sponsorship with Dime Bank will afford the lecture committee increased access to an exciting pool of prominent speakers.

Past lecturers include Anne Garrels, NPR news correspondent and author of Naked in Baghdad; Dr. Bernie Siegel, cancer-patient advocate; Wally Lamb, best-selling author of She's Come Undone and I Know This Much Is True; David Brodeur, Washington Post correspondent; and David Sutherland, director of PBS's "Country Boys."
