Note:  Connecticut High School Graduates after 1998 are exempt from this policy. Measles (Rubeola) - The required immunization consists of two doses of measles vaccine (administered at least one month apart).  The first dose must have been given after January 1, 1969 (and after the student's first birthday) and the second dose after January 1, 1980.

Rubella (German Measles)- The required immunization for rubella (German Measles) is one dose of rubella vaccine administered after the student's first birthday.

NOTE:  These health records must be submitted to the Continuing Education Office prior to registration for courses.

Exemptions from Measles and Rubella Immunization Requirements

Exemptions are granted only under the following conditions:

  • For medical reasons, confirmed by a physician's  statement;

  • If medical records indicate a student is immune to measles and rubella (a titer test);

  • A health department or physician's certificate stating a student had measles and rubella.

  • If inoculation is contrary to student's religious beliefs or practices, a letter of explanation must be submitted with verification from a clergy member.

Students claiming a religious or medical exemption may be excluded from college activities, including classes and exams if there is an outbreak of measles or rubella on campus.

Proof of High School Completion -  All students must submit a copy of their high school diploma, transcripts, or GED certificate, including date of graduation.

Placement Test Waiver -   Applicants who have previously attended other colleges or universities and have earned college level credits in English or math are waived from the computerized placement test when they provide unofficial transcripts of prior college coursework or a copy of their college degree. Students must bring a copy (unofficial) of their transcript or grade report at the time of registration, to show that prerequisite courses have been met.
