College Parking / Construction Updates

Recent developments

Wed Aug 1, 2007:  Welcome to Three Rivers Community College
…  in our temporary facilities at the Mohegan Campus

A whole lot of changin’ going on ….

Everything is changing at Three Rivers (except our great education programs) and this is a guide to help you find your way around the campus.

Parking …. a little better, but still not great

Parking at the college has changed a lot over the summer and a plan (click here) showing all available parking areas is linked for your information.  Faculty and staff parking has been moved to two designated areas on the east and west sides of the buildings.  Student parking remains in the same location at the southwest corner of the campus, but unfortunately, is still unpaved due to environmental and drainage requirements.  However, the entrance to student parking has been paved, more short-term parking has been provided for visitors, registration, and bookstore access, and increased handicapped parking has been included near all student entrances.  Remember, parking at the start of school is particularly difficult, so allow yourself a little extra time to find a spot.

If you find a place to park, where do you go from there?

Just about everything at the college has been moved to a new location, so location plans of all college spaces (click here) are linked for easy reference. These are some of the major changes that may concern you:

  • Student Entrances:  There are three main student entrances, all of which are on the south side of the building near to student parking.  All of these are marked on the plans to help you to use the entrance closest to your class or other destination.
  • Class Locations:  Classes will be held primarily in two locations, (1) the lower level (Shop Wing) and (2) in the renovated second and third floors of the classroom building.  Classroom numbers are as shown on these plans with the exception that all room numbers of classes in the shop wing will be preceded by the letter “S” in your schedule.  A few classes will also be held in the portable classrooms next to the bookstore (P-1 & P-2) and in the Auditorium (Aud).
  • Student Support Services:  Student Service offices including, admissions, registrar, financial aid, counseling, and cashier will be located in the southeast corner of the building near one of the main student entrances.  (This relocation may not actually be complete at the start of school, but will be done shortly thereafter.)  Other key support areas, such as Library, Tutoring Center, Cafeteria, Writing Center, and Bookstore are also shown on these plans.  Our Childcare Center is now at the Thames Valley Campus.
  • Faculty, Staff, and other Administrative Support Offices:  Most of these offices are located in the Shop Wing in the northeast corner of that building and can be reached using the center shop wing corridor. This corridor also joins with both the center and north stair wells and elevator to permit access to other classroom levels.

If you’re lost …..

Please don’t hesitate to ask for assistance from any member of the Three Rivers’ Faculty or Staff, but remember, we haven’t been in these new facilities before either and we’re just learning too.
