Program Summary

“Look forward to your future, be at your best and let High Jump catapult you over the rest ….”

The High Jump Concept

Objective: High Jump is a program that will be offered at the Three Rivers Community College for high school students who have demonstrated academic achievement and maturity needed to enroll in college courses during their senior year. Seniors who study at TRCC full-time would be eligible to earn college credit and credit for high school graduation simultaneously.

Background: The Technology Recruitment Committee has been exploring opportunities to recruit bright high school students. This is considered one way that we can achieve our recruiting goal. The HJ program will select candidates who will enter into an Engineering Technology Program.

High Jump Admission Criteria:

  1. A cumulative 3.0 (B) high school grade point average.
  2. Permission of parent or guardian and signed TRCC consent agreements.
  3. Recommendation signature from a guidance counselor or principal with a list of courses that would include requirements for graduation from high school and other recommended college courses.
  4. Acceptable placement test scores for ENG 100 and MAT 095.
  5. The applicant shall have all required HS coursework completed with the exception of English composition.
  6. The student shall agree to study a minimum of 12 credit hours per Fall and Spring semesters.
